The Communication and Visibility Officer (local staff) provides support to the Team Leader with regards to the implementation of the Communication and Visibility related activities of the Programme. In particular, the Communication and Visibility Officer will: Support the Team Leader in the implementation of the Communication and Visibility Plan of the Action, in consultation with relevant AICS and Embassy officials in Cairo and in accordance with the directives of the AICS Cairo. Promote communication and information activities, and assist in media relations, and in organizing launch/closure seminars related to the Action and the visits by the EU Delegation and other institutions, in order to facilitate the dissemination of good practice in relation to other projects managed by other Donors and/or the EU Delegation. Oversee the design and editorial content of the website and intranet, ensuring that content is regularly updated and promoted (including steps of call for proposals and call for tenders), and maintain the programme website; Participate in procurement/grant and subcontracting procedures (including preparation of related technical documentation and selection committee) in the area of the communication and visibility; Monitor the proper implementation and execution of the communication and visibility component at the level of each grant and procurement contract; Monitor the proper implementation and execution of the contract with external communication agencies and printing company (including performance-based results and financial monitoring); Prepare and arrange for the production of printed materials (brochures, newsletter, leaflets posters) as indicated in work plans and/or Communication and Visibility Plan; Draft press releases, statements, news summaries and ensure print and electronic media coverage for the events; Collect all publications and records for project files, and contribute to the Project Progress Reports with all published materials, broadcasts and events; Where appropriate, take part in seminars or teaching sessions for future media coverage; Assist the Team Leader and other staff in preparation and delivering of workshops to potential applicants/grant beneficiaries (visibility aspects of project; preparation/implementation); Perform other relevant activities as required. Requirementso Candidates will be considered eligible for selection on the basis of the following essential requirements, to be fulfilled by the deadline for applications:Age not exceeding (at the time of signing the contract) that required for retirement by local regulations (60 years); Medically fit for employment; Master’s level university degree in communication, journalism, marketing, media, or related fields (level 7 European Qualification Framework EQF). Other degrees of the same level may be taken into consideration if accompanied by sector- specific experience;At least 4 years of post-graduate working experience, in media relations, communication and visibility matters; At least 2 years of post-graduate working experience with international organizations and/or governmental aid agencies in communication and visibility related matters; Proficient English user (C2 Level - Common European Framework of Reference); Proficient in written and spoken Arabic (C1 Level - Common European Framework of Reference); Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications; Not having sustained, in the three-year period preceding the date of expiry of the notice, an assessment of insufficiency in the assessment of work done/performed in the context of employment contracts signed with AICS offices other than Cairo The following will constitute the preferred qualification for the position: Post-graduate diplomas (University Master, PhD or other Higher Education Courses recognized in the sector of interest) additional to the minimum requirements indicated in point 2.1.3 above; Intermediate Italian user (B2 Level - Common European Framework of Reference); Previous experience with EU and / or EU-funded projects, including knowledge of EU communication and visibility procedures and requirements; Similar professional experience carried out in the country indicated in this vacancy notice; Previous experience in contract management (procurement/grant) in relation to the implementation of the communication and visibility component
