Commercial Analyst/Pricing and Tender Role

This position provides an exciting opportunity to contribute to our pricing and profitability strategies in Africa. You will work closely with various teams including Marketing, Sales, Regulatory Affairs, Finance, Medical, and Market Access across the META region. Your strong analytical abilities and strategic thinking will be instrumental in achieving our pricing objectives.

Responsibilities

• Support META in achieving pricing and profitability targets in Africa by providing insightful analysis and recommendations.
• Analyze and align local pricing with global pricing guidance, international price referencing practices, and META Pricing strategy at country, sub-cluster, and cluster levels.
• Collaborate closely with Regional Leads to identify revenue trends, analyze product pricing, assess portfolio mix, and improve margins.
• Apply effective pricing tools to strengthen local pricing decisions while maintaining compliance with Baxter policies and performance benchmarks.
• Manage the end-to-end tender process for the Africa region, including identifying products for bidding, collecting historic bids, preparing pricing proposals, and submitting offers.
• Act as a role model for Baxter's Tender Governance, adhering to policies, processes, and decision-making principles.
• Support the Go-To Market strategy by pricing new product launches as part of the Geox process.
• Play a pivotal role in the key budget and forecast process for pricing-related topics, demonstrating the pricing team's active contribution to business success.
• Use your analytical skills and market knowledge to achieve the best possible prices for all Baxter products across Africa.
• Develop and update pricelists in line with Baxter's pricing strategies, considering Africa's profitability expectations and franchise guidance. Equivalent experience will also be considered.
• Assist countries in preparing price certificates and appeals for mandatory submissions to the Ministry of Health, ensuring compliance with pricing policies.
• Support new pricing initiatives by creating pricing models and strategic proposals in line with the company's overall business strategy.

Requirements

• Educational qualifications: A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required.
• Relevant experience: Previous experience in finance, pricing, or tender management is highly desirable.
• Language proficiency: Fluency in English is required. Proficiency in French and Arabic is highly valued.
• Technical skills: Excellent proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint is essential for data analysis and presentation purposes.
• Problem-solving skills: Exhibit the capacity to identify and solve problems, suggest viable solutions, gain support, and successfully put them into action.
• Analytical skills: Possess strong analytical skills and a logical thought process to extract key principles, identify risks, and understand interdependencies.
• Time management: Exhibit good time management and prioritization skills to handle multiple pricing tasks and tender deadlines efficiently.
• Understanding business impact: Recognize the correlation between pricing strategies and their effect on the success of the company.
• Collaboration and communication: Foster effective teamwork and interpersonal connections by exhibiting strong communication skills. Engage in seamless collaboration with diverse teams, professionals at various levels, and individuals from different geographical locations.
