Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Mechanical Engineer to join our team for a Photovoltaic (PV) Solar Plant project. The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining mechanical systems and components associated with the solar plant. This role requires expertise in mechanical engineering principles, PV technology, and project management to ensure the efficient and reliable operation of the solar power systems.
Key Responsibilities
Design and Development:
- Design mechanical systems and components for the PV solar plant, including mounting structures, tracking systems, and cooling systems.
- Develop and review detailed mechanical drawings, specifications, and schematics.
- Conduct mechanical system simulations and performance analyses to optimize design and ensure functionality.
Installation and Commissioning:
- Oversee the installation of mechanical systems and components, ensuring they are installed according to design specifications and safety standards.
- Supervise contractors and field personnel during installation and commissioning phases.
- Conduct testing, inspection, and commissioning of mechanical systems to verify proper operation.
Maintenance and Optimization:
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures for mechanical systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues that arise during installation and operation.
- Analyze system performance data and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and reliability.
Project Management:
- Collaborate with project managers, electrical engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure integration of mechanical systems within the overall project.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources related to mechanical engineering tasks.
- Prepare and review technical documentation, including design reports, installation manuals, and maintenance procedures.
Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure that all mechanical systems and installations comply with industry standards, codes, and regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures to mitigate potential hazards.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and changes in regulations.
Technical Support and Troubleshooting:
- Provide technical support and guidance to installation and maintenance teams.
- Develop and implement solutions for technical challenges related to mechanical systems.
- Address and resolve any mechanical issues that arise during the lifecycle of the solar plant.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of design changes, system performance, and maintenance activities.
- Prepare and submit reports on project progress, system performance, and compliance.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
- Experience: mechanical engineering, with specific experience in PV solar systems preferred.
