As North & Sub Sahara Quality, Cust. Sat, compliance & EHS Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that the products and services delivered conform to specifications and standards, with a strong emphasis on product and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities include managing and enhancing customer satisfaction, addressing quality concerns and monitoring customer feedback. The role also involves monitoring and improving process capability with the support of EMEA process experts, maintaining effective communication with geographies and management, and supporting the regional and geography quality network. Additionally, it is crucial to ensure a positive, safe, healthy, and incident-free work environment, comply with local safety regulations and EssilorLuxottica standards, and maintain environmental performance regarding water, energy, and waste management. You will report to the N&SSA Rx Ops Manager.

Main Responsibilities

Quality Management System

  • Manage local QMS by ensuring its coherence with group QMS and ISO 13485 /ISO 9001 /ISO 14000 /ISO 45001 standards as and where applicable/recommended.
  • Ensure effectiveness, promotion, and awareness of QMS throughout the organization.

Medical Device Regulations

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements of North & Sub Saharan and export markets.
  • Lead medical device registrations and communications with regulatory authorities.

Customer Satisfaction

  • Market Quality Identify trends, pain points and problems to solve; monitor customer returns and act on customer complaints.
  • Participate with other depts in defining the strategy/action plan to improve customer satisfaction.

New Product/Process/Equipment Validations

  • Ensure new product, process and equipment follow proper validation as per the standards.
  • Lead risk analysis with the teams and act as in-charge of gate crossing at lab level (PIA).
  • Authorize Product release, secure Market release from regional quality to open commercial flow.

Manufacturing Quality

  • Manage supplier quality level (both internal & external).
  • Ensure that Manufacturing Quality dept. has all necessary skills and means to perform and deliver.
  • Ensure test methods, cosmetic, optic & other Quality standards are well implemented & followed.
  • Derogation management, if any with regional teams.
  • Contribute with production and local engineering in yield improvements, resolution of quality problems using standard tools (QRQC, 8Ds, etc..) and ad-hoc topics.

EHS

  • Ensure that the company complies with all local regulations and EssilorLuxottica standards concerning health, safety and the environment.
  • Collaborate with EMEA/corporate EHS and HR departments to monitor enforcement of standards and regulations; drive appropriate preventive and corrective measures as and when necessary.
  • To maintain and enhance safety consciousness and awareness in the workplace by respecting EHS rules and managing the BBS program.
  • Develop & maintain a program to prevent occupational accident and illness by Near miss report.
  • Ensure Incident’s Lessons Learned from other labs are properly applied to plant.
  • Machine/Maintenance safety, LOTO program - deploy standard to plant, ensure effective implementation to safe work and maintenance of high-risk machine/equipment.
  • Drive plant fire protection and prevention system by collaborating to ensure plant implement actions to reduce employees and property risks.
  • Give EHS validation on new process/project.
  • Manage the local water, energy and waste saving program.

Others

  • Monitor & report assigned KPIs, cascade down global targets & action plans
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders on QHSE topics
  • Appraise direct reportees during performance review period. Align their development and training plan. Coach, mentor and recognize their performance.

Main Requirements

  • Educational Background in engineering/science/management or related field.
  • At least 4/5 years of experience in Quality Assurance, Quality control or manufacturing management in multinational manufacturing company.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Solid experience with MS Office and BI apps software packages.
  • Solid experience in managing QMS based on ISO standard (either of ISO 13485 /9001 /14000 /45001)
  • Good understanding of environmental regulations and occupational health & safety requirements.
  • Technical knowledge on Statistical Process Control, problem solving tools.
  • Strong analytical skills able to analyze data, feedback and make conclusions and/or decisions.
  • Customer centric mindset with leadership and project management skills.
  • Good listener with excellent organizational skills and passionate driving results.
  • Medical device industry experience is a strong advantage.
