We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Bilingual Business Developer to strengthen our firm’s strategic market position and expand our client portfolio.
Working under the supervision of the Director of Operations and External Relations and in close coordination with our lawyers, the Business Developer will design and implement business strategies that align with our legal service offerings and market needs.
This role is ideal for a professional who thrives in a fast-paced, relationship-driven environment and is fluent in both French and English.
Responsibilities Client Portfolio Development and Management Identify new business prospects and convert leads into long-term clients Build, manage, and retain strong relationships with existing clients Conduct client follow-ups to ensure satisfaction and identify new needs Create and manage a client relationship tracking system Market Analysis and Commercial Strategy Conduct local and international market research to identify new business opportunities Analyze trends, competitor positioning, and sector developments Develop and propose commercial action plans aligned with firm priorities Work with lawyers to align business strategy with areas of legal expertise Commercial Presentations and Proposals Draft and present tailored proposals based on identified client needs Prepare and deliver persuasive presentations in both French and English, for internal and external audiences Coordinate input from legal and operations teams to prepare comprehensive client-facing materials Support proposal development for tenders, RFPs, and panel submissions Remuneration and benefits package will reflect the successful candidates experience and competencies.
Required Experience: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, Law, Management, or a related field Fluent in French and English, with strong written and verbal communication in both languages 2 to 5 years of experience in business development, sales, or client relationship management, preferably in professional services or legal sector Strong ability to craft compelling business proposals and presentations Excellent interpersonal, persuasion, and negotiation skills Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM systems Experience working in cross-functional or international teams Key Competencies: Business Acumen: Understands the legal industry and can translate service offerings into client value Client Centricity: Focused on building and sustaining long-term relationships with clients Market Intelligence: Strong skills in research, trend analysis, and identifying strategic opportunities Strategic Planning: Ability to create actionable plans based on data and market knowledge Communication & Presentation : Clearly conveys messages, ideas, and proposals to a variety of audiences in both French and English Sales & Negotiation: Skilled in persuasive selling, objection handling, and closing deals Collaboration: Works effectively with lawyers, operational teams, and leadership to drive business goals CRM & Data Management: Ability to manage and leverage client data through CRM tools Personal Skills and Attributes: Confident, self-motivated, and autonomous with a proactive mindset Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines High level of professionalism, diplomacy, and cultural sensitivity Resilient and adaptable in dynamic or ambiguous environments Strong sense of initiative, curiosity, and continuous improvement Able to build trust-based relationships with both internal teams and external stakeholders   The above is intended to describe the general content of and requirements for the performance of this job.
