Process Improvement Engineer

The Egyptian Clothing Bank, an NGO established in 2012, aims to provide underprivileged members of society with basic suitable clothing and cover needs. As a model of giving, the organization upcycles, recycles, and distributes 100% of all donations received. Located in New Cairo, the Egyptian Clothing Bank collaborates with donors, volunteers, and partners to fulfill its mission.


Role Description

To enhance the efficiency of clothing collection, sorting, and distribution processes, start by mapping out the current workflows to identify bottlenecks and areas needing improvement. Apply Lean methodologies to minimize waste in time, resources, and materials—this could include standardizing sorting procedures, reducing unnecessary movement within the warehouse, and cutting down on waiting times. Conduct time studies for each task to enable better task assignments and more precise staffing needs. Additionally, design an optimized layout for the storage area to maximize space, reduce handling time, and simplify material retrieval. Explore affordable automation options, such as conveyor belts and sorting bins, to streamline sorting without incurring significant costs


Qualifications

  • Analytical Skills, Industrial Engineering, and Manufacturing Engineering skills
  • Experience in process improvement and communication
  • Strong ability to analyze data and identify areas for enhancement
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering is a must
  • 2- 5 years of experience in process management
