Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Procurement:
Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with project needs and company objectives.
Supplier Management:
Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure the best deals and ensure quality.
Contract Management:
Manage purchase orders and contracts, monitor delivery schedules, and ensure compliance.
Risk Mitigation:
Identify and evaluate procurement risks, including supply chain disruptions and price fluctuations, and develop mitigation plans.
Collaboration:
Work closely with engineering and project management teams to understand requirements and develop procurement plans.
Performance Monitoring:
Track and analyze supplier performance to identify areas for improvement.
Industry Expertise:
Stay updated on market trends, new technologies, and industry best practices in procurement.
Mentoring:
Guide and mentor junior procurement staff, fostering their professional development.
Tendering (for certain roles):
Prepare and submit competitive bids for mechanical equipment and services.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, including purchase orders, contracts, and supplier documentation.
Proven working experience in mechanical engineeringWorking experience with product lifecycle management (PLM), finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD)Hands-on experience with computer-aided engineering (CAM) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAE)Familiarity with 2D or 3D engineering design and manufacturing tools (e.g., AutoCAD, ProE or other)Adequate knowledge of engineering analysis tools (ANSYS, ProMechanica or similar)Mathematical computing and analysis tools knowledge (Matlab, Excel, LabView etc)Solid understanding of core concepts including mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, materials science etc.Creativity and analytical skillsAbility to communicate technical knowledge in a clear and understandable mannerTechnical writing skillsBSc degree in Engineering
