Technical Office Engineer

Job Summary:

The Technical Office Engineer is responsible for preparing, reviewing, and coordinating shop drawings and quantity surveying tasks for construction projects. The role requires close collaboration with the design team, site engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure accuracy, compliance with project specifications, and timely delivery of technical documents.

Key Responsibilities:

???? Shop Drawings

Prepare and develop detailed shop drawings based on IFC (Issued for Construction) drawings, specifications, and standards.

Coordinate with structural, architectural, and MEP disciplines to resolve any clashes or discrepancies.

Submit shop drawings for consultant/client approval and track review cycles.

Revise drawings based on feedback or site modifications.

???? Quantity Surveying (QS)

Prepare quantity take-offs and bill of quantities (BOQ) from project drawings and specifications.

Verify subcontractor invoices and material quantities.

Monitor project material consumption and provide cost-control support.

Assist in preparing cost reports, variations, and claims.

???? Documentation & Coordination

Maintain updated logs for shop drawings, materials submittals, and RFIs (Requests for Information).

Liaise with procurement and planning departments to align technical requirements with timelines.

Coordinate with site teams to ensure implementation of approved drawings and specifications.

Attend technical meetings with consultants and clients when required.


Qualifications & Skills:Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.3+ years of experience in a technical office role within the construction industry.Strong experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and other drafting tools.Excellent understanding of construction drawings and project specifications.Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.Good communication and coordination skills.
