Project Engineering Head Brownfield

Our client, a major LNG operator in Qatar, requires a Project Engineering Head Brownfield for a major onshore project on a 3-year renewal contract basis.


Reporting


Reports to the department’s onshore Project Manager based at CONTRACTOR’s Home Office in Doha, Qatar during the Engineering & Procurement phase with transition to the Site Offices at Ras Laffan Industrial City for Construction, Commissioning and Start-up.


Main Accountabilities


  • On behalf of the DEPARTMENT’S Project Manager, responsible for the seamless execution of DEPARTMENT’S browfield activities, ensuring delivery of the project is completed within approved project parameters including safety, quality, cost and schedule in order to meet Project objectives.
  • Risk management for all brownfield scope (identification of risk, assessment, identification of mitigation strategies and the development of fit for purpose solutions).
  • Provides visible site safety leadership, instilling good safety behaviours, ensuring robust compliance, and safeguarding technical integrity.
  • Working in a highly technical and challenging brownfield environment, provides knowledge, advice and technical support to DEPARTMENT’S Project Manager, demonstrating an understanding of the requirements of the DEPARTMENT’S contract and effectively executing brownfield activities related to tie-ins, modifications, improvements and alterations within the scope of the department.
  • Major challenges are: (1) the management of conflicting priorities and views amongst multiple shareholders and stakeholders; (2) effectively analysing information in order to prioritise tasks as required to meet project execution schedule and key milestones in a high pressure environment; (3) interfacing and co-ordinating multiple groups to ensure problems and opportunities are prioritised and addressed efficiently; (4) demonstrating full commitment and capacity to take work load and providing accurate reporting to the Project Management, focusing on priorities and areas of risks; and 5) ensuring that ad-hoc and short internal and external requests are handled in an efficient, accurate and timely manner.


Suitable candidates will require a Bachelors’ Degree in Engineering, with a minimum of 20 years’ experience in Oil and Gas industry with at least 5 years experience in project engineering management on a major LNG project environment. Experience in Brownfield execution. Experienced with risk management assessment techniques. Experience in managing discipline engineers, Field engineering experience is desirable and a Lump Sump EPC experience on Major Projects.


On offer is a competitive daily rate with monthly living and transport allowances on a 12 x 2 weeks rotation schedule with flights provided. Married status option also available
