Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role for a Robotics Engineer at Farness. The Robotics Engineer will be responsible for integrating third-party drone SDKs into our solution to develop advanced autonomous systems. This includes customizing drone functionalities for navigation, collaboration, and mission execution in dynamic environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Integrate and customize drone SDKs to align with the Farness solution.
  • Develop autonomy algorithms for fleet management and coordination.
  • Design and optimize data pipelines for perception and decision-making systems.
  • Work on software integration to ensure compatibility with various drone models.
  • Collaborate to implement advanced features such as object detection, 3D mapping, and target tracking.
  • Conduct thorough testing in simulations and real-world conditions to ensure system robustness.
  • Document integration processes and technical developments clearly.

This role is based in the Grand Tunis Metropolitan Area with flexibility for remote work as needed.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Experience integrating drone SDKs (e.g., DJI, Parrot, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of drone programming and communication protocols (e.g., MAVLink).
  • Proficiency in robotics programming, with expertise in Python and C++.
  • Solid knowledge of autonomous systems, including navigation, trajectory planning, and fleet management.
  • Familiarity with frameworks such as ROS (Robot Operating System) and simulation environments like Gazebo.
  • Experience in AI and computer vision (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, OpenCV).
  • Problem-solving skills to address complex challenges and optimize system performance.
  • Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Computer, Mechanical, or a related field).

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with embedded systems or edge computing solutions.
  • Excellent communication and technical documentation skills.
