Job Description

The Quality Manager for PV Solar Plants will be responsible for ensuring that all aspects of the solar plant’s operations meet established quality standards. This role involves overseeing the quality control processes for the installation, operation, and maintenance of photovoltaic systems to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. The Quality Manager will work closely with various departments to implement quality assurance practices and drive continuous improvement initiatives.


Key Responsibilities:


  1. Quality Assurance & Control:


    • Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance policies and procedures for the solar plant.
    • Monitor and assess the quality of materials, components, and workmanship during the installation and operation of PV systems.
    • Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
    • Identify and address quality issues promptly, coordinating with relevant teams to implement corrective actions.
  2. Compliance & Documentation:


    • Ensure adherence to industry standards such as IEC, UL, and local regulations.
    • Maintain comprehensive records of quality checks, inspection reports, and compliance documentation.
    • Prepare and present quality reports to management and regulatory bodies as required.
  3. Process Improvement:


    • Analyze quality data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
    • Develop and lead initiatives to enhance process efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Facilitate training and development programs for staff to promote quality awareness and best practices.
  4. Supplier & Contractor Management:


    • Evaluate and approve suppliers and contractors based on quality criteria.
    • Monitor the performance of suppliers and contractors, ensuring they meet quality standards.
    • Address any quality issues with suppliers and contractors and oversee the resolution process.
  5. Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance:


    • Ensure that quality practices align with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
    • Promote a culture of safety and compliance within the plant.
  6. Customer Focus:


    • Address quality-related customer complaints and concerns in a timely manner.
    • Collaborate with customer service teams to ensure customer satisfaction and address any quality issues that may impact customers.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., CQE, Six Sigma) are a plus.
  • Proven experience in quality management within the solar energy or renewable energy sector.
  • Strong knowledge of PV system technologies, installation practices, and industry standards.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in quality management software and tools.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across various teams.
  • Experience with regulatory compliance and safety standards specific to solar energy.
