The Role


Our client is one of the world's leading media companies, with a 24-hour English-language news channel, and they are looking for a Senior Service Engineer to join their team.


As a Senior Service Engineer, you will play a crucial role in automation services, coordinating projects, and providing operational support. Your expertise in automation, ELTs, reporting, and project coordination will contribute to the seamless functioning of our business.


Responsibilities


Automation, ETL, Reporting


  • Automate services, operations, and incident resolutions using a wide variety of tools such as Azure Functions, AWS Lambda, Google Apps Script, MS Power Platform, REST APIs, and more.
  • Manage existing ETL pipelines, ensuring efficient operation and updating them as required. Expand the pipelines based on business requirements.
  • Manage existing reports on Looker Studio and PowerBI. Plan, design, and create additional reports as needed.
  • Set up and manage integrations between multiple platforms using available add-ons. Develop custom integrations using APIs when native integrations are not feasible.


Project Coordination


  • Coordinate with multiple teams, including external vendors to ensure the smooth running of business operations.
  • Act as a liaison between teams in specific projects, ensuring successful delivery.


Operational Support


  • Analyze data on different platforms, including logs, to identify patterns and connect them with incidents and other occurrences.
  • Research and independently understand problems, utilizing problem-determination skills to identify root causes.
  • Design, execute, and coordinate operational activities involving multiple teams and stakeholders. Ensure proper score definition, follow-up, and escalation until completion.


Required Qualifications


  • The candidate must be a native Arabic Speaker with good/fluent English skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 2 years of hands-on programming experience using Node.JS, JavaScript, or Google Apps Script.
  • Strong professional experience working with MS Power Platform.
  • Strong professional experience working with PowerBI or Looker Studio.
  • Serverless Architecture and REST APIs experience is required.
  • Experience working with Cloud Technologies such as GCP or Azure. Experience with both would be ideal!
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT operations managing large complex business systems.
  • Understanding of standard client/server, APIs, networking, and interview fundamentals, including endpoint and certificate creation and maintenance.
  • Comfortable working virtually with global teammates and customers, utilizing tools like Slack and video conferencing.
  • Enthusiastic about challenges, learning, and experimenting with new technologies and processes to achieve business goals.
  • Objective-oriented mindset with strong urgency and priority management in a changing business climate. Timely and accurate responses to inquiries.
  • Strong problem-determination skills, capable of researching and understanding problems independently to identify root causes.
  • Ability to comprehend complex scenarios and establish connections between diverse platforms and integrations.

What We Offer


  • Remote, full-time (40 hours/week). Must be able to work in Qatar Time (UTC +3) office hours (from 9 am until 6 pm)
