Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Logistics Director to oversee and manage the end-to-end logistics operations. This role requires a strong leader with experience in supply chain management, transportation, warehouse operations, and inventory control. The Logistics Director will play a key role in optimizing the supply chain to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and compliant movement of goods from suppliers to customers.
Key Responsibilities:
· Supply Chain Management: Plan, implement, and oversee the logistics strategy across procurement, production, warehousing, and distribution.
· Transportation Oversight: Manage all inbound and outbound transportation, optimizing routes, negotiating with carriers, and ensuring on-time delivery of materials and products.
· Inventory Management: Maintain optimal stock levels of raw materials (copper, insulation, etc.) and finished products, reducing excess inventory while preventing shortages.
· Warehouse Management: Oversee all warehouse operations, including product storage, packaging, and distribution, ensuring that processes adhere to industry safety and regulatory standards.
· Compliance: Ensure that logistics operations meet all relevant industry regulations, including safety, environmental, and fire protection standards.
· Vendor and Supplier Relations: Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, and logistics partners to ensure seamless supply chain operations.
· Budget Management: Manage logistics budgets and implement cost-saving initiatives to improve overall operational efficiency.
· Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of logistics professionals, warehouse staff, and drivers to ensure smooth daily operations.
· Technology Integration: Utilize logistics software and systems (e.g., SAP) to optimize supply chain visibility and efficiency.
· Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements across the logistics chain to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
Requirements:
· Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
· Experience: 8+ years of experience in logistics or supply chain management, preferably in manufacturing sectors.
· Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and motivate teams, manage cross-functional relationships, and drive process improvements.
· Technical Skills: Proficiency in logistics software and systems (SAP) and strong understanding of logistics requirements.
· Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving, data analysis, and decision-making skills to manage the complexities of logistics operations.
· Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage with both internal teams and external partners.
