The Engineering Director at Magic Hotels (Tui Hotels) in North & West Africa will be responsible for overseeing the engineering and maintenance operations across our collection of hotels. This role requires a dynamic leader with strong technical expertise and a passion for excellence to maintain and enhance our properties to meet the highest standards of quality and sustainability adding to that must have a knowledge for each hotel Specifically.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Strategy:

Develop and execute strategic plans for the maintenance, improvement, and enhancement facilities.

Lead, inspire, and manage a team of engineers and maintenance staff across multiple properties.

Promote a culture of innovation, teamwork, and operational excellence within the engineering department.

  • Facility Management:

 Oversee the operation, maintenance, and repair of all building systems, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems, ensuring top-tier functionality and guest satisfaction.

Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to building operations and safety.

Implement and manage preventive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and extend the lifespan of hotel assets.

  • Project Management:

 Lead renovation and construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Collaborate with external contractors, architects, and consultants to achieve exceptional results.

  • Budgeting & Cost Control:

 Develop, manage, and optimize the engineering budget for each property, focusing on cost efficiency and effective resource allocation.

Analyze maintenance expenses and identify opportunities for cost savings and operational improvements.

  • Guest Experience:

 Support and enhance the guest experience, maintaining the magical ambiance of our hotels.

Address and resolve any engineering-related guest concerns promptly and professionally.

  • Sustainability & Innovation:

 Drive the implementation of sustainable practices and green initiatives to enhance energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact.

Stay abreast of industry trends and technological advancements.


About You:

·      Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering.

·      Minimum of 10 years of experience in engineering or facilities management within the hospitality industry, with at least 5 years in the same position.

·      Extensive knowledge of building systems, maintenance procedures, and regulatory requirements.

·      Proven track record in managing budgets, projects, and teams effectively.

·      Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.

·      Professional English

·      Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.

·      Ability to Travel to different Hotels in different countries.
