Job Overview



The Country Head of Operations ensures the smooth and effective execution of learning sessions at Hackerspaces throughout the country. The role involves coordinating with various stakeholders to improve the learning experience, manage instructors' performance, and oversee the logistical aspects of session execution.


Responsibilities:




  1. Student Experience

    1. Oversee the management of student issues across all Hackerspaces, ensuring that all student concerns are addressed promptly and effectively

    2. Initiate and lead projects aimed at improving the overall student experience at Hackerspaces.

    3. Monitor and support strategies to ensure high course completion rates across the country, identifying and addressing systemic barriers to student success.



  2. Instructors Hiring:

    1. Ensure that all Hackerspaces hire the best possible instructors on time for all sessions, maintaining a high standard of teaching and learning

    2. Ensure adherence to hiring and onboarding processes, reporting any deviations to the General Manager and Central Operations



  3. Community building:

    1. Facilitate and support the organization and growth of local communities around each Hackerspace, enhancing student engagement and satisfaction

    2. Organize and manage both internal and external events to foster community engagement and promote learning opportunities



  4. Strategic Oversignt:

    1. Lead the response to any operational emergencies at Hackerspaces, coordinating with local managers to resolve issues swiftly.

    2. Oversee operations across all Hackerspaces within the country, ensuring alignment with the organization's mission and operational standards.




Qualifications:



  • 5+ years working in Operations department or Logistics

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams 

  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

  • Very clear oral and written communication

  • Strong Experience working with Tech Systems (ERP - CRM or equivalent)

Hiring Process:




  • Step 1: Initial interview to filter on previous experience (Ops + Management) + culture Fit (GM) 45’

  • Step 2: Candidates will be given 1 week to prepare a business case relevant to the role, demonstrating their strategic planning and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Step 3: 60-minute interview with a panel including the General Manager and Leadership from the Central Team.

    • 45 minutes to discuss the business case, focusing on solutions and approaches presented by the candidate.

    • 15 minutes to explore challenges the candidate has faced in similar roles and their approaches to overcoming them.
