Summary
Execute all Procurement activities related to sourcing for NPI (New Product Introduction). Work closely with Global Procurement colleagues to define to best sourcing strategy for each individual innovation project. Identify and articulate Baxter’s requirements, foster competition amongst suppliers, leverage agreements across the enterprise, including managing risk, driving cost reduction and creating value for Baxter Healthcare. Act as the primary source of knowledge for category / products and suppliers with internal stakeholders. Drive excellent project management skills through each stage gate of the NPI process to ensure that timelines are met and project objectives achieved. Build a secure and cost effective supply state to support Baxter’s product innovation pipeline.

What you'll be doing
Lead the purchasing activities related to New Product Introduction, from concept to ‘on market’ Identify and propose alternate sources to R&D/project teams during the product development cycle to improve value and mitigate risk based on knowledge of global markets, suppliers and competitive landscape Design and deliver effective Requests for Proposals (RFP) to potential suppliers and present results to stakeholders. Create cost saving opportunities through competitive bidding, negotiations and deliver on-time reporting of results. Provide guidance to R&D (technical and commercial) team on new industry trends and market intelligence Leverage supplier knowledge to identify potential efficiencies in the product design. Drive and measure improvements through utilisation of industry benchmarking. Develop strong, ethical relationships with strategic suppliers and ensure that activities surrounding dealing with suppliers are conducted under the auspices of good business practices and consistent with the Baxter Code of Ethics. Drive and develop process improvement within the NPI process Negotiate price, contract terms and conditions for major goods or services and draft contracts where necessary. Document strategy agreement with category management and report on a regular basis. Collaborate with other members of Procurement to ensure we are leveraging the existing tools and directions across categories Deliver internal stakeholder service, advice and support. These stakeholders cover a broad and diverse range of operations and locations. This will require the establishment and maintenance of a strong and efficient communication network. Develop an in-depth knowledge of assigned commodities/ supplier technologies, manufacturing processes, and related industries: including cost drivers, global execution, to leverage across multiple manufacturing locations, and understand specific supply issues. Work effectively with internal departments / stakeholders for your categories to create value including advice and governance, sustainability, performance measurement, portfolio management and support goals. Establish strong external market and industry knowledge and networks within your respective categories ensuring that the business is well positioned to identify and take advantage of leading supply models, innovation, and other opportunities that arise. Transact and implement new or improved supply models where this will lead to improved value. What you'll bring
Bachelor’s degree required 8+ years experience in Procurement, Project Management and/ or Mechanical Engineering Able to quickly gain credibility and gain traction with both internal stakeholders and external suppliers. Influencing, consultative ability and initiative will be key competencies. Negotiation, Conflict Resolution, Presentation Skills, Facilitation, Leadership, Effective communication skills Strong project management, planning and organisational skills. Analytical and business problem solving skills. Strong personal accountability for results and integrity, eagerness to learn and continuously improve. Uncompromising dedication to quality, relentless focus on rapid and disciplined action, and respect for the diverse contributions of all. Knowledge of six sigma / black belt methodologies is desirable
