Technical Office Manager

Overview:

The Technical Office Manager is responsible for overseeing the administrative and technical support operations for the engineering and technical departments at the glass processing factory. This role serves as the link between the technical teams and other business units, ensuring efficient communication and coordination of technical projects and initiatives. Additionally, the Technical Office Manager oversees the installation team responsible for the implementation of glass processing systems and equipment.

Responsibilities:

  1. Technical Documentation Management:
    • Maintain and organize all technical documentation, including engineering drawings, product specifications, safety manuals, and standard operating procedures.
    • Ensure proper version control and archiving of technical documents.
    • Collaborate with engineering teams to update and distribute technical documentation as needed.
  2. Project Management:
    • Manage and facilitate technical projects involving cross-functional teams from engineering, production, quality control, and other departments.
    • Track project timelines, milestones, and deliverables, ensuring projects stay on schedule.
    • Facilitate communication and information flow among project team members.
  3. Technical Support:
    • Provide administrative and technical support to the engineering and technical teams.
    • Assist with research, data collection, and analysis related to technical projects.
    • Maintain and organize technical libraries, databases, and reference materials.
  4. Technical Training and Development:
    • Identify training needs for technical staff and assist in organizing and manage training programs.
    • Maintain records of technical staff certifications, licenses, and training completion.
    • Collaborate with human resources and technical teams to develop and implement technical training curricula.
  5. Technical Communication:
    • Act as the primary point of contact for technical inquiries from other departments, customers, and external stakeholders.
    • Prepare technical reports, presentations, and other communication materials as required.
    • Facilitate knowledge sharing and best practice dissemination among technical teams.
  6. Continuous Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements in technical operations.
    • Collaborate with technical teams to implement process improvements and streamline workflows.
    • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to technical operations.
  7. Installation Team Management:
    • Oversee the installation team responsible for the implementation of glass processing systems.
    • Ensure that installation projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
    • Collaborate with engineering teams to provide technical guidance and support during installations.
    • Manage installation team schedules, resources, and performance.
    • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards during installations.

Bachelor's degree in engineering, Applied Arts, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.Excellent organizational and project management skills.Strong technical aptitude and understanding of engineering terminology.Proficient in technical writing and documentation standards.Experience with project management tools and techniques.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.Proficiency in relevant software applications (e.g., CAD, Solidworks, project management, document management).Familiarity with glass processing operations and technologies is preferred.Experience in managing installation teams and overseeing complex equipment installations is desirable.
