With advanced AI-powered algorithms and real-time data integration, Carbon Insights empowers users to monitor, track, and optimize their carbon emissions, driving sustainability and environmental stewardship. Our first webapp launched in July 2023 where users are be able to track European Carbon Emissions from Power Plants on an hourly basis. Our development pipeline includes plans for the launch of the Carbon Emission Demand and Price Forecasting Tool in Q1 and Q2 2024.

Role Description

This is a hybrid, full-time internship role located in Tunis, with flexibility for remote work. As an Internship AI Engineer and Financial Modeler, you will support our team in developing, testing, and deploying different mathematical models and algorithms, as well as building and maintaining data pipelines. You will utilize your knowledge of numerical methods, optimization techniques, statistics, time series analysis and advanced machine learning algorithms such as time series transformers to support the development of predictive models and analyze financial data to support our clients' carbon market analysis toolkit.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Financial Mathematics, Mathematical Modelling, or other relevant scientific fields
• Strong programming experience using Python and experience with Git and GitHub
• Strong scientific and analytical skills with experience in statistics, time series analysis, numerical methods, optimization, machine learning, data analysis and AI
• Experience with Pandas, numpy, scientific, statistics and ML/AI Python libraries
• Experience in finance, pricing modelling, and financial forecasting is a plus
• Capability to understand mathematical models and scientific papers quickly
• Experience with database management and optimization of techno-economic systems (Industry and Energy)
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, and entrepreneurial spirit
• Fluency in English (oral and written)
• Experience in any of the following is a plus: energy markets, pytorch, attention and transformer technology
• Passion for financial modelling
