Job Description:

bout the Job (Scope):

• Configures host multi-pathing on Windows, UNIX (Solaris/AIX), Linux, and VMware; and perform reboots.
• Checks and monitors multi-pathing configuration on hosts, for native multi-pathing software and Dell EMC PowerPath.
• Logs into servers (Windows, UNIX, or Linux) as admin, and run multi-pathing commands/checks to verify the configuration is correct (two or more paths are there to the storage).
• Carries out basic troubleshooting in case of issues. Issues can be escalated to a higher level if more in-depth troubleshooting is required.
• Works with different multi-pathing software products and technologies, such as Dell EMC PowerPath, MPIO, Device Mapper multi-pathing, VMware multi-pathing, and Veritas DMP (on Solaris).
• Runs operational activities on the system and storage level.

Technical Skills:

• Experience administering different Operating Systems (Windows, UNIX, and Linux) (2-3 years):
  • OS installations and different configurations.
  • OS upgrades.
  • Creating file-systems and logical volumes.
  • Troubleshooting OS issues and Performance tuning.

• Experience in Multi-pathing technologies and different Multi-pathing software products (1-2 years):
  • Dell EMC PowerPath
  • MPIO
  • Device Mapper Multi-pathing
  • Multi-pathing in VMware
  • Veritas DMP (on Solaris)

• Experience working with Storage Arrays, Storage Area Networks (SAN) (1-2 years):
  • VMAX Administration.
  • SYMCLI/U4V experience.
  • Ability to check the SAN zoning configuration for existing and new switches, and experience working on SAN port migrations.

Soft Skills

• Strong communication skills.
• Experience working in rigorous change control environments.
• Ability to follow a customer’s ticketing process.
• Customer escalation handling skills.
