Job Description

Purpose of the Role

As Senior Cost Controller, you are accountable for ensuring that costs are spent in accordance with the Budget and that invoices are validated in compliance with company audit rules. Based on your experience, you will contribute to process optimization through IT tools implementation. Your main tasks will consist in the following:
Mastering the Budget cycle, from preparation of Budget, then Revision, and finally Gap analysis with actuals Mastering the Purchase to pay process from validation of supply requisitions, until processing invoices for payment in compliance with company audit rules, Contributing in the process improvement (Process Automation, Internal Procedures)

Responsibilities & tasks

Budget Cycle:

Work with budget holders for quarterly Budget estimation/review and proceed with Monthly budget KPI analysis and Year end Actuals vs Closing Budget analysis; Prepare Budget and related slides for meetings with headquarters and state partner.

Purchase to pay process:

Approve purchase requests after Budget allocation and expense coding; Approve invoices for payment after review of supporting documentation and three way matching of Purchase order/Delivery note/Invoice; Monthly costs follow-up for progress made in projects and operations. Prepare monthly accruals accordingly for costs not yet charged; Monthly costs follow-up on technical assistance by headquarters and raise accruals for incurred costs not yet charged; Monthly validation of stock movements for Opex/Capex materials warehouse and prepare for periodic inventory stocktaking.

Other Tasks:

Monthly Preparation of Cash-Calls and Billings by concession to be submitted to state partner; Actively contribute in meetings with ERP integrator for the implementation of additional modules or specific development and automation of manual tasks; Actively contribute in the update of current ERP configuration and closure of raised tickets for noticed ERP issues; Serve as the primary focal point with partner auditors, providing clarification and support related to the purchase-to-pay process; Actively contribute in the update of current finance procedures.

Place in the organisation

As Senior Cost Controller, you will work within the Finance Department reporting to Deputy Finance Manager with no direct reports, interacting with the Accounting and Procurement team and liaising with Core Business teams dealing with Operations and Projects.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting; Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Power Point and Power BI; Knowledge of Oil & Gas ERP (Microsoft D365 or S/4HANA are recommended) Ability to translate complex financial data into understandable insights for non-financial stakeholders; Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including operations, engineering, and executive leadership; Ability to align financial analysis with the company's strategic goals and objectives; High level of accuracy in financial calculations, reporting, and documentation; Ability to follow-up on multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment; 7 years' minimum experience with a multinational firm or extensive experience (5 to 7 years) within a renowned Audit firm.
