About the Project:
We are seeking a dedicated Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Manager for a two-year solar plant project based in Burkina Faso. The successful candidate can work remotely from either Morocco or Tunisia. This role is crucial in ensuring the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- HSE Strategy Development:
- Develop and implement comprehensive HSE policies and procedures specific to solar plant operations.
- Conduct risk assessments and create mitigation plans to ensure a safe working environment.
- Compliance and Monitoring:
- Ensure all project activities comply with local HSE laws and regulations.
- Monitor and audit site activities to ensure adherence to HSE policies.
- Conduct regular inspections and safety audits.
- Training and Development:
- Organize and conduct HSE training sessions for all project personnel.
- Promote a culture of safety awareness and environmental responsibility.
- Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses.
- Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Reporting and Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of all HSE-related activities, incidents, and training.
- Prepare and submit regular HSE reports to project management and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with project teams, contractors, and local authorities to ensure HSE compliance.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all HSE matters.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
- Professional HSE certification (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in an HSE role, preferably in the renewable energy sector, specifically PV Solar Plants.
- Proven track record in managing HSE aspects of large-scale projects.
- Excellent knowledge of HSE regulations and best practices in the renewable energy industry.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Fluent in French is mandatory; additional languages are a plus.
- Proficiency in HSE management software and tools.
- Familiarity with incident investigation techniques and risk assessment methodologies.
