Roles & Responsibilities


Ø Electronic designer is responsible for the design and development of Analog and Digital


electronic boards, overseeing the product from concept to testing and final validation.


Ø Design and development of Electronic / Electrical products by studying customer


requirements and understanding of electronic circuits and Electrical schemes


Ø Exposure to Electrical standards EN 60617 / IPC-620 or equivalent


Ø Preparation of wiring diagram using Electrical CAD as per Railway standards


Ø Troubleshooting of Electrical issues & Electronic circuits at component level


Ø Design electronic circuit and verify PCB layout to conform compliant to IPC-610 standard


Ø Prototype development and Testing of Electrical and Electronic equipment’s


Ø Prepare test specification to develop test setup for endurance / life test using Labview or PLC’s


Ø Support for Prototype testing at External accredited Laboratories (TUV, EnVi test etc)


Ø Travelling to Field for troubleshooting, Testing and commissioning


Ø Establish Communication with Engineers / Project Managers both in India and SISCOs


Main Responsibilities:


  • Design and development of analog/digital electronic boards
  • Requirements analysis Collect and analyze technical specifications.
  • ELN Component selection Choose appropriate components for the circuit based on design specifications, compliance with regulations, cost targets, longevity, and safety. Update components library.
  • Schematic design Once components are selected, create the schematics, verifying performance where necessary through simulations (numerical, SPICE tools, etc.), considering tolerances, temperature variations, etc., using E-CAD tools.
  • PCB design Develop PCB (Printed Circuit Board) layout using E-CAD tools, prepare production documentation for EMS and follow the supplier during prototyping/pre-series phases (design review, etc.).
  • Testing and validation Perform tests on prototypes to verify functionality and compliance with specifications; manage validation and debugging phases using standard measurement tools (oscilloscope, multimeter, signal generators, etc.).
  • Technical documentation Prepare schematics, BOMs, functional specifications, and test reports
  • Compliance and standards Ensure compliance with electrical safety regulations and applicable EMC standards (electromagnetic compatibility).
  • Interdisciplinary
  • collaboration Collaborate with other teams (firmware, mechanical, production) to integrate the system and ensure product development in line with specifications.

Mandatory Requirements (Must-have)


  • Technical background Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. A solid academic foundation in electronics is essential.
  • Experience At least 4–5 years of practical experience in electronic design, circuit development, and laboratory testing.
  • Circuit design knowledge Expertise in both analog (signal conditioning, SNR management, DC/DC switching, MOSFETs, BJTs, filters, comparators, etc.) and digital electronics (SPI, UART, CAN, USB, etc…)
  • Microcontrollers Basic knowledge of 32-bit microcontrollers, architectures, etc
  • PCB design and CAD Proficiency in multi-layer PCB design and use of electronic CAD software for schematic and layout (e.g., Altium Designer)
  • Measurement and testing Ability to use electronic test and measurement tools (oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, spectrum analyzers) to validate circuits and troubleshoot
  • Design methodologies Familiarity with circuit simulation and analysis methodologies (e.g., worst-case analysis, tolerance evaluation, SPICE/PSPICE)
  • Problem-solving skills Strong aptitude for analyzing technical problems and finding effective solutions
  • Standards knowledge Knowledge of key EMC standards (conducted emissions, electrical susceptibility, ESD, …)
  • Teamwork and communication Excellent teamwork and communication skills to collaborate across departments (firmware, mechanical, production) and with external partners
  • Language skills Good command of English in written and spoken is mandatory, Preferred to have Hindi or other Regional Language skills


Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-have)


  • Digital design (HDL) Knowledge of digital logic; familiarity with hardware description languages (e.g., VHDL) for FPGA development.
  • Railway standards Familiarity with certifications and standards (EN50155) for railway applications.
  • Knowledge of PCBA
  • Production processes Familiarity with the industrial manufacturing process of assembled printed circuit boards (PCBA), including DFM (Design for Manufacturability), DFA (Design for Assembly), and interactions with EMS suppliers.
