DESCRIPTION AND AIM

Planning and follow-up of the operation activities within the Market Access ,Tender & Pricing team in Africa Region . This includes defining a strategy, setting of priorities, planning the operations, and reporting on the progress.


MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND SCOPE

Main Tasks:

  • Follow the guidance and strategy cascaded by the Head of Market Access & Government Affairs - Middle East & Africa and implement & execute for Africa region in coordination with Pricing Lead of Middle East.
  • Partner with Head of Market Access and Commercial team in the development, recommendation and implementation in-line, list, and net pricing strategies.
  • Initiate and lead the Price certificate issuance in Africa region when required for regulatory submissions.
  • Ensure that the finance department get the right information to insert calculated the rebates/ discounts into out reported figures.
  • Serve as primary interface for Market Access to Pricing, Contracting and Analytics matrix to ensure successful implementation of all list and net pricing actions.
  • Perform systematically local market access environment monitoring, analyze strategic and financial implications of the local market access policies & regulations, including but not limited to universal coverage, pricing, reimbursement, national /regional formulary listing and other relevant payer policies and guidelines.
  • Ensure all pricing & reimbursement submission and activities occur within defined timeframes to achieve the earliest possible Pricing &Reimbursement listings, with the broadest possible access at the highest possible prices.
  • Managing and preparing pricing appeals by aligning with all stakeholders (Business Unit, Finance, Medical Area, Regulatory, Region and Global), aiming at compliance with the established internal price guidance.
  • Partner with head of Market access & Global teams to design the pricing and market access strategies for products in the development phase.
  • Support country Market Access head in the development of strategic MAP, incl. forward-looking risks/opportunities assessment, strategic implications in short- and long-term, financial quantification, focused goals, and synergized action plans.
  • Work in partnership with other functions in evaluating portfolio development or acquisition projects and act as an integral part of local due diligence team for market access subjects.
  • In Collaboration with Market access Head, define and develop affiliate-specific payer value-added programs which includes payer engagement programs, or shaping policies or pricing optimization.
  • Support regional and pricing teams in the development, recommendation and implementation of in-line, list, and net pricing strategies.
  • Support Regional and national teams in addressing market access, price, and reimbursement challenges.
  • Work closely with regional and country teams to support pricing activities in the plan period in line with commercial strategies for the PC portfolio.
  • Design and develop pricing models to evaluate impact of pre- and post-launch strategies through defined performance measurement techniques and make recommendations to adapt, where appropriate.
  • Identify tender opportunities in the pharmaceutical market and evaluate their potential for the organization, build a robust tender calendar, analyze tender requirements, including specifications, pricing, terms, and conditions in close coordination with the KAM (where applicable) & Partner.
  • Support tender submissions by Preparing tender documentations as specified by KAM/BAM & Validating prices for tender submission in alignment with Commercial, lead price approval procedures on MAPs.
  • Deliver core materials pre-launch and Life Cycle Management including access strategy, core payer value proposition, pricing corridors.
  • Develop models to support pricing analysis including IRP impact, price/volume, forecasting.
  • Work cross functionally with finance, commercial and regulatory to identify, assess and implement innovative pricing strategies (Value Based, Capitated, Subscription, etc.,)
  • Model impact of life cycle pricing strategies - Model impact of legislative measures on revenue
  • Work with cross-functional teams to inform bottoms-up forecast model; inform budget cycle on strategic considerations and financial impact.
  • Create and provide senior management with relevant pricing and reimbursement information, support, industry trends, market dynamics, competitor activities in the tendering landscape and recommendations.
  • Ensure the creation and timely upkeep of Standard Operating Procedures/Pricing Governance for pricing development and operations processes.
  • Demonstrate role specific competencies on a consistent basis.

  • Fulfilling and implementing responsibilities mentioned in all procedures of the company.
  • The process managed in accordance with Company Procedures; s/he is responsible for ensuring that the activities of the inputs and outputs are correct, the resources are sufficient, the process is monitored, the records are kept, the performance is measured and, when necessary, reporting on these issues.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education Level: Bachelor’s Degree or above.

Education Faculty / Department: Pharmacy, Business administration, Finance, Marketing or Equivalent

Work Experience: A minimum of 7 years of pharmaceutical industry experience with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in reimbursement & pricing, finance business analytics and/or contract development, HEOR is preferred.

Technical Knowledge:

  • Understanding of drug pricing, including First Databank and / or Medi span data sources is highly preferred
  • Knowledge of AMP, Best Price and ASP pricing dynamics is highly preferred
  • Strong presentation and MS Excel skills including experience in developing financial models and ability to clearly communicate complex modeling results.

Foreign Language: French and English are Mandatory
