Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Hours for this position are 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM, following a 2-2-3 schedule. Flexibility is required to occasionally work different shifts to provide coverage for business needs
Equipment Operation and Maintenance: Lead, operate, and perform changeovers on automated and non-automated equipment through control panels and manually to ensure production efficiency.
Troubleshooting and Repair: Act as the primary contact for addressing mechanical unplanned downtime and performing necessary repairs and preventive maintenance to maintain equipment reliability.
Coordination and Communication: Collaborate with planning, warehouse, and vendor representatives to ensure effective changeovers, and maintain clear communication to support production performance.
Maintenance Planning and Documentation: Assist in establishing and improving maintenance standards, document activities in systems like SAP, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Participation in Projects and Improvements: participate in new equipment installations, and engage in continuous improvement initiatives and failure investigations.
Spare Parts and Tool Management: Confirm availability and storage of tools and spare parts, including fabrication of simple machine parts, to ensure smooth production operations.
Training and Development: Share expertise with operator technicians, identify skill transfer opportunities, and participate in continuous learning and cross-training within departments.
Adhere to Standards: Follow environmental, health, safety, and quality standards while maintaining workplace housekeeping and engaging in regular performance reviews to drive improvements.
Required Qualifications
Education
Technical Experience
Technical college/vocational school certificate, OR Associate degree in a related field
Experience in troubleshooting and repairing technical issues
Knowledge of mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics, and basic electrical systems
Practical skills in working with technical documentation, including mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and equipment manuals
Ability to understand OEM manuals and read schematics
Capability to analyze process flows to identify issues
PhysicalRequirements
Ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly for extended periods
Ability to climb stairs and ladders, and bend to 90 degrees repeatedly
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated autonomous and preventive maintenance experience
Experience working with food safety regulated environments ( FDA,AIB, USDA, cGMP)
Working knowledge of SAP
