We are seeking a skilled OpenShift Administrator to manage, monitor, and maintain our OpenShift platform environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance across all development, test, and production environments. The OpenShift Administrator will handle platform infrastructure, manage user access, and troubleshoot issues to guarantee a smooth and efficient operational flow.

Tasks :

1. Platform Management & Monitoring:

Monitor platform health, performance, and capacity using the OpenShift dashboard and integrated observability tools. Ensure high availability and scalability across different environments (development, test and production).

2. User Access & Project Management:

Manage user access control, ensuring proper authentication and authorization protocols.

Handle project creation and configuration, ensuring compliance with organizational policies.

3. Quota & Resource Allocation:

Oversee quota allocation for projects and users, ensuring optimal usage of system resources (CPU, memory, storage).

Monitor and adjust quotas as needed based on usage trends and future demand forecasting.

4. Storage, Networking & Infrastructure Management:

Configure and manage storage solutions for persistent and non-persistent storage in OpenShift.

Oversee network configuration, including internal/external routing, DNS, and load balancing.

5. Incident Response & Troubleshooting:

Actively participate in incident management to resolve platform performance issues and ensure minimum downtime.

Proactively troubleshoot and resolve issues related to nodes, containers, and other system components.

6. Performance Optimization & System Tuning:

Conduct performance tuning for system components like pods, services, and configurations to improve system throughput and resilience.

Implement automated scaling and resource management mechanisms.

7. Security & Compliance:

Ensure that OpenShift platforms adhere to security best practices (e.g., vulnerability patching, secure configurations).

Perform regular security audits and address compliance gaps.

8. Backup & Disaster Recovery:

Implement and maintain a robust backup and disaster recovery strategy for the OpenShift environments.

Test failover and restoration procedures periodically.

Skills required

*OpenShift and Kubernetes Knowledge:

Expertise in OpenShift platform (installation, configuration, and administration).

Strong understanding of Kubernetes (pods, services, volumes, configMaps, secrets).

ExperiencewithOpenShiftOperators and Kubernetescontrollers.

Knowledge of namespaces, quotas, and multi-tenancy in OpenShift.


*Operating Systems:

Proficient in Linux (typically Red Hat Enterprise Linux or CentOS).

Familiar with shell/Bash commands and scripting for automation.


*Networking and Security:

Understanding of network concepts (DNS, VLANs, load balancing, internal/external routing, NAT, firewalls).

Experience with network policies in OpenShift (Network Policies, Ingress, etc.).

Kubernetes and OpenShift cluster security (RBAC, TLS, certificate management).


* Observability and Monitoring:

Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK Stack).

Ability to handle logs, metrics, and traces to monitor cluster health and performance.


* Resilience and High Availability:

Knowledge of resilient architectures (redundancy, failover, backups).

Managing disaster recovery scenarios for clusters.


* Identity and Access Management:

Familiarity with integration of authentication and authorization systems (Keycloak,LDAP, Active Directory).

Management of permissions and roles using RBAC (Role-Based Access Control).


* Troubleshooting and Diagnostics:

Ability to identify and resolve complex issues (cluster failures, network issues, application breakdowns).

Use of diagnostic tools (logs, traces, monitoring) for troubleshooting.


* Security Knowledge:

Securing containers (image scanning, security policies).


* Education and Experience:

Bachelor’sdegree in Computer Science, Engineering, or relatedfield (or equivalentexperience).

3-5 years of experienceworkingwithOpenShift, Kubernetes, or other container orchestration platforms.

Relevant certifications in OpenShift, Kubernetes, or cloud platforms (preferred).
