Job Description:
The Central Engineering Director will oversee all engineering functions within the organization, ensuring the development and implementation of innovative wiring solutions. This role requires a strategic leader to drive projects, enhance product quality, and improve operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Leadership and Strategy:
Develop and execute engineering strategies aligned with company goals.
Lead and mentor the engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
2. Project Management:
Oversee the planning, design, and execution of engineering projects.
Ensure timely delivery of projects within budget and quality standards.
3. Product Development:
Drive the development of new wiring products and solutions, ensuring they meet market needs and regulatory standards.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate engineering efforts with marketing, manufacturing, and sales.
4. Quality Assurance:
Establish and maintain quality control processes to ensure product reliability and performance.
Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and reduce costs.
5. Technical Oversight:
Provide technical guidance and support to the engineering team and other departments.
Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in wiring technology.
6. Budget Management:
Develop and manage the engineering budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
Monitor expenditures and identify cost-saving opportunities.
7. Compliance and Safety:
Ensure all engineering activities comply with relevant safety and industry standards.
Promote a safe working environment within the engineering department.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; Master’s preferred.
10+ years of experience in engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Proven experience in product development and project management within the wiring or electrical industry.
Strong knowledge of industry standards and regulations.
Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
