Roles & Responsibilities
Main Responsibilities: Business Management and Development: Prospect, negotiate, and directly manage key accounts for distributors, covering major Libyan cities including Tripoli, Misrata, and Benghazi. Technical Consulting and Recommendations: Analyze project specifications (e.g., acid-resistant floor coatings for the food industry, concrete protection, or fireproofing for the oil sector) and recommend appropriate chemical solutions. Intensive Field Travel: Maintain a continuous physical presence with clients, requiring over 50% of working time to be spent in Libya monitoring projects. On-Site Technical Assistance: Supervise the testing and application phases of chemical products at industrial sites to ensure their proper implementation. Logistics and customs management: Coordinate the flow of goods and export documentation (Incoterms, letters of credit) between Tunisia and Libya, mastering specific cross-border formalities (inspections, certificates of conformity). Payment and risk monitoring: Secure international financial transactions, paying close attention to payment terms and collection in the Libyan zone.
Desired Candidate Profile
- 5-7 years of technical and sales experience, imperatively in the chemical products sector for construction or technical industrial supply.
- In-depth knowledge of the regulatory, hygiene and safety requirements specific to the Food & Beverage (HACCP standards, chemical resistance) and Oil & Gas (ATEX standards, severe environments) industries.
- Mastery of complex B2B sales techniques (long cycles, technical/engineering contacts) and the fundamentals of foreign trade (Incoterms, regional road/sea logistics).
- Strong autonomy, resilience, intercultural adaptability, keen sense of diplomacy and excellent stress management in a complex industrial environment.
- French and Arabic (fluency in Tunisian and Libyan Arabic is essential for fieldwork) are required.
- Technical English required for exchanges with multinationals and specification grids.
