Key Responsibilities

  • Inventory Management

Stock Replenishment: Forecast demand and reorder supplies proactively to avoid stockouts or overstocking.

Inventory Control Techniques: Employ techniques like First-In, First-Out (FIFO) or First-Expiry, First-Out (FEFO) to minimize waste,

Inventory Documentation: Maintain accurate stock ledgers, batch records, and expiry trackers for all products stored in the warehouse.

  • Regulatory and Quality Compliance

Good Storage Practices (GSP): Ensure the warehouse meets pharmaceutical storage conditions such as, Controlled temperature zones (e.g., cold chain …) ; Proper segregation of hazardous, expired, or rejected products.

Good Distribution Practices (GDP): Oversee transportation logistics to ensure pharmaceutical products are delivered under controlled conditions.

Audits and Inspections: Prepare for inspections from regulatory audits, ensuring documentation, systems, and processes comply with industry regulations.

  • Storage and Handling

Temperature-Controlled Storage: Monitor cold storage and humidity-controlled areas using advanced sensors and alert systems.

Pharmaceutical Segregation: Ensure separate storage of raw materials, intermediates, finished goods, and returns/rejected goods.

Risk Mitigation: Establish protocols to prevent contamination, theft, or mishandling of products.

  • Logistics and Supply Chain

Dispatch Planning: Coordinate timely order fulfilment based on distribution schedules and customer demands.

Vendor and Transport Management: Work closely with logistics providers to ensure timely, secure, and compliant product transportation.

Reverse Logistics: Manage returns of expired, damaged, or recalled products with proper documentation.

  • Data and Systems Management

Warehouse Management Systems : Use software to monitor and optimize storage space, picking/packing accuracy, and inventory turnover.

Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP): Integrate warehouse activities with broader business operations like procurement, sales, and finance.

Documentation and Reporting: Generate detailed reports on stock levels, order statuses, compliance metrics, and operational efficiency.

  • Risk and Safety Management

Hazard Management: Create protocols for handling flammable, reactive, or sensitive materials.

Emergency Plans: Develop contingency plans for power outages, refrigeration failure, or fire incidents.

Workplace Safety: Enforce the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety procedures to protect employees.

Required Education

Education: A bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or Pharmaceutical Sciences.

Experience: Minimum 5 years in warehouse/logistics roles, in similar roles.

Required Skills And Experience

Regulatory Expertise :

Knowledge of pharmaceutical laws and guidelines such as cGMP, BPF … ,

Knowledge of Automation and AI; Implementation of robotics for picking/packing and AI for demand forecasting.

Sustainability; Use of eco-friendly packaging and energy-efficient warehouse designs.

Blockchain Technology; Enhanced traceability and security in the pharmaceutical supply chain.

Technical Competencies

Pharmaceutical Knowledge: Deep understanding of the pharmaceutical supply chain and storage guidelines; Awareness of handling-controlled substances, narcotics, or other restricted items.

Software Proficiency: Advanced use of WMS and ERP systems like SAGE, SAP, … ; Use of digital tools for compliance tracking and reporting.

Required Behaviours And Competencies

Team Leadership: Ability to supervise warehouse workers, plan shifts, and manage workloads.

Collaboration: Work effectively with procurement teams, quality assurance, regulatory affairs, and logistics.

Communication Skills: Deliver reports and communicate issues clearly to internal teams and regulatory authorities.

Required Languages

Fluency in written and spoken French and English
