<h2 class="h5">Job description</h2> <div class="t-break" data-jb-field="description"> <span></span><p><span>Our Chemist is responsible for performing physical and chemical testing in support of the site Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) program.</span><span>The lab operates 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. <strong>This position is a third shift position M-F from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM.</strong></span></p><br> <strong><span>Responsibilities:&nbsp;</span></strong> <ul> <li> <p><span>Perform physical and chemical testing of raw material, packaging material, in-process and finished product in accordance with standard procedures. Approves materials and products based on test results</span></p><br> </li> <li> <p><span>Participate in investigations to identify root cause and recommend corrective and preventive actions</span></p><br> </li> <li> <p><span>Apply appropriate methodologies and data interpretation techniques to assist in overcoming difficulties and promote continuous improvement.</span></p><br> </li> <li> <p><span>Maintain the laboratory quality assurance systems to assure validity of data and troubleshoot basic instrument problems</span></p><br> </li> <li> <p><span>Perform or assist vendors in the installation qualification (IQ), operational qualification (OQ) and performance qualification (PQ) of laboratory instruments and equipment. Conducts lab verification of instruments</span></p><br> </li> <li> <p><span>Use laboratory safety equipment and understand precautions in handling reagents and disposal of chemical waste according with local environmental regulations</span></p><br> </li> <li> <p><span>Develop in depth knowledge of how to operate analytical instruments and other standard laboratory equipment relevant to job responsibilities</span></p><br> </li> <li> <p><span>Understand and accurately follow written lab procedures, global methods, local methods and published standard sources</span></p><br> </li> <li> <p><span>Develop in depth knowledge of how to calibrate and maintain analytical instruments and the use of analytical reference standards relevant to job description</span></p><br> </li> <li> <p><span>Prepare positive release documentation including analytical lab reports and certificates of analysis</span></p><br> </li> </ul> <strong><span>Required Qualifications:</span></strong> <ul> <li> <p><span>Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related technical field</span></p><br> </li> <li> <p><span>A minimum of 0 - 2 years experience in an Analytical lab, or pharmaceutical, medical device, cosmetic or consumer products industries</span></p><br> </li> <li> <p><span>Proven proficiency in laboratory skills with training in chemistry</span></p><br> </li> <li> <p><span>Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite</span></p><br> </li> <li> <p><span>Willing to work third shift M-F</span></p><br> </li> </ul> <strong><span>Preferred Qualifications:&nbsp;</span></strong> <ul> <li> <p><span>Excellent interpersonal, communication skills, and ability to work in a team environment</span></p><br> </li> <li> <p><span>Strong multitasking skills in a fast paced, changing environment</span></p><br> </li> <li> <p><span>Attention to detail</span></p><br> </li> </ul> </div>
