Increased support is therefore vital to enable IOM to bridge urgent service gaps, protect the most vulnerable, and uphold public health priorities until national systems are sufficiently equipped to respond independently.</p><p>Under the overall supervision of the Head of Sub-office (Zarzis) and the direct supervision of the migration health physician, the succeful incumbent will be responsible for the following tasks:</p><ul><li>Provide general assistance with the daily nursing activities to fulfil the technical requirements in the areas of:</li><ul><li>Medical examinations; Such as checking vital signs, weight, height, visual acuity; and, Blood, urine or sputum collection as required.</li><li>Support in TB management; Directly Observed Treatment Short Course (DOTS);</li><li>Support Infection prevention and control mechanisms;</li><li>Support pre-departure procedures and medical movements;</li><li>Support documentation, certification and information transmission;</li><li>Transport of samples to the laboratory in a proper and safe manner;</li><li>Liaise with the laboratory, receive results and reports in a timely manner; and,</li><li>Other technical areas as may be required.</li></ul><li>Provide support and general information to the migrants and/or refugees in relation to:</li><ul><li>The migration health assessment, specially focusing on Chest Xray, Immunization and sputum testing for those requiring it; and,</li><li>Treatments and referrals tpo public and private helath facilities.</li></ul><li>Support the medical team members with proper identification and follow up by:</li><ul><li>Comprehensive history taking;</li><li>Accurate and thorough Biodata collection;</li><li>Ensuring ID verification for each step of the health assessment process; and,</li><li>Keeping a register of applicants who undergo health investigations and testing.</li></ul><li>Follow the Health Programmes check lists and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP s) and maintain standard universal precautions within IOM clinics.</li><li>Assist in medical emergency management as well as with chronic case management and related procedures.</li><li>Arrange for specialist consultations and ensure receipt of specialist reports as assigned.</li><li>Support proper and accurate record keeping of applicants throughout the migration health assessment process, including uploading medical reports on the required databases.</li><li>Perform medical escort duties when required to ensure migrants receive continued care throughout all phases of migration (before departure, during the journey and at the final destination).</li><li>Assist the team with checking medical invoices.</li><li>Prepare list of medical drugs and supplies for ordering as requested by the Migration Health Physician or Migration Health Nurse, assist in inventory taking, confirm and receive ordered drugs and supplies; all in close coordination with the administrative and finance teams.</li><li>Perform other duties as may be assigned.</li></ul><p><strong>Desired Candidate Profile</strong></p><h2>Required Qualifications and Experience</h2><ul><li><strong>Education</strong>: Certificate or High School diploma from an accredited academic institution in Nursing. A valid license to practice nursing in the country of duty station. Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.</li><li><strong>Experience</strong>: For Bachelor's Degree holder a minimum of two (2) years of relevant clinical experience and for Diploma holder a minimum of four (4) years of relevant clinical experience. <p>We are searching for an individual or an organization based in Africa (Algeria, Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, Congo (Republic), Democratic Republic of Congo (D. C), Cote d'Ivoire, Djibouti, Gabon, Guinea, Madagascar, Mali, Mauritania, Morocco, Niger, Senegal, Togo and Tunisia) with a social compliance background to work with our Client Services team on a freelance or consultancy basis (part-time) and help us effectively collaborate with and service a diverse portfolio of clients and their suppliers in the aforementioned countries. With a workers rights and supplier engagement background, and a keen interest and capacity for the use of technology, we are looking for a candidate that will engage with workers, suppliers and brands in the aforementioned countries to drive meaningful impact. Working with the Client Services team, they will be responsible for introducing our digital worker engagement programs to suppliers (both virtually and on site when possible), getting management buy-in, training management on the platform usage, engaging with workers and promoting participation, managing grievance cases, and liaising between all stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes for all.
